Ancestry discovery site Find My Past asked Swhype to initially consult on a social video treatment which would offer something different and surprising from the usual archive footage montage.
We took the brief to heart and set about creating a style which could be used to describe other historical figures, which wouldn’t rely on photographs and newspaper headlines.
Ultimately an illustrative style evolved from initial discussions, gradually becoming more organic and featuring some traditional cell frame elements.
Not wanting to concentrate on the obvious an paired with a dramatic score, the film describes Churchill’s lesser known achievement and builds to a climatic conclusion.
