Since debuting on the iPad back in May, Snap, a mobile photography magazine created by Instagram competitor Hipstamatic, is launching on the iPhone and Web to expand its potential readership.
Snap has found a niche for itself over the past six months, largely catering to Hipstamatic’s community of iPhoneographers, and has so far reached the #1 spot for photo/art magazines in the App Store, cracking the top 10 overall.
The company has yet to release official download numbers, however, which leaves us wondering if the magazine is limited in its scope to Hipstamatic’s existing user-base. Nevertheless, considering that Hipstamatic users are required to have iPhones, and do not necessarily own iPads, this was a smart move for expansion. Read full story
