[text_output]The most recent Screen Social at The Book Club in London EC2 was the perfect mix of music & film. We kicked off the evening with a few technical hitches (inevitably) and cooled down to enjoy some original indie film & video content from the likes of Ciara Barry (Philippa and Nancy), George Shelbourn (Comet) and Thom Munden (Run), among others. Jules from The Sound of Film provided some incidental soundtrack sweets before Bullion Productions introduced their brilliant first selection of shorts and music videos – an eclectic mix of work from musicians as diverse as Summer Camp, Beardyman and Professor Green.[/text_output][image type=”none” float=”none” info=”none” info_place=”top” info_trigger=”hover” src=”8131″ alt=”screen-social-bullion”][text_output]Next we were treated to the phenomenal sound of Franz Kirmann who, together with his drummer provided a crescendo of broken beats and soaring synth, captivating the audience with his synched visuals on our four screens. [/text_output][text_output]Partizan‘s Spanish directing geniuses Canada then introduced surreal fast-cut promos and clever commercial spots to our late-night crowd until 10.30pm when Bullion returned for another collection of top music videos.
11:59 arrived for a bit of classic music video VS classic tune and we were sorted for the rest of the night.
Friends were made, music was discovered and directors were praised… all in one space on one night.
