DJ: Cosmo Disco spins some classic & contemporary hip-hop

Also from 7.30pm: In the run up to The Van d’Or Awards 2012, there’ll be an exclusive screening of 2011 Van d’Or Award winner, Fixing Luka.
Plus – independent music videos, shorts, animations & experiments.

We welcome LESSON SIX for a night of cliché-free hip-hop & music videos. Featuring Bristol’s own Folk-Hop / Spoken Word crossover artist Clayton Blizzard, playing an acoustic set with tracks from his newly released album Analogue Is Better Than Digital.

We’ll also have a screening of the seminal alternative Hip-Hop documentary, Hip-Hop: Beyond Beats & Rhymes. An intriguing documentary by a self-confessed ‘Hip-Hop Head’, as filmmaker Byron Hurt takes a look at the lyrics behind the music he loves and examines the issues that plague mainstream hip-hop culture.

Screen Social has been described as “a continuous live ‘filmusic’ experience which builds throughout the night”. It’s a place to check out new films, videos, live acts, directors and catch up with friends over a few drinks, all without breaking your flow.

Time: 7pm until 1am
Door: £3 or £2 online from http://screensocial11.eventbrite.com/
