Her experience as a performer and director at\u00a0<strong>Kneehigh<\/strong><b> <\/b>in Cornwall<b>\u00a0<\/b>together with her exploration in folk, &#8216;magic&#8217; tales<b>\u00a0<\/b>throughout her career<b>\u00a0<\/b>inspired, nurtured and shaped her adventurous and modern approach to the traditional form in theatre.<\/p>\n<p>Radio host &amp; TV presenter, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/laurenlaverne?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Eauthor\" target=\"_blank\">Lauren Laverne<\/a><\/strong> met her inside the impressive <strong>Sam Wanamaker Playhouse<\/strong> to discuss her sensational Shakespearean season and The Pool&#8217;s <i>&#8216;Wonder Women&#8217;<\/i>\u00a0series of music gigs ahead of this summer.[\/vc_column_text][divider line_type=&#8221;No Line&#8221; custom_height=&#8221;20&#8243;][image_with_animation image_url=&#8221;16934&#8243; alignment=&#8221;&#8221; animation=&#8221;Fade In&#8221;][vc_column_text]Being the first female creative director of Shakespeare&#8217;s Globe, she talks about introducing a 50\/50 gender balance on stage for the first time and how her decision was naturally implemented by the organisation.<\/p>\n<p>The Pool&#8217;s music series were announced earlier in May and includes a <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=cwU6uyxs_H0\" target=\"_blank\">Roisin Murphy<\/a><\/strong> gig at the venue on the <strong>15th August<\/strong>. Curated by Lauren Laverne, these sessions aspire to bring a new wave of music at the Globe by presenting established and rising female artists who are challenging the form of popular music in the 21st century.
