“A political allegory that reflects upon Chile’s history”, The Wrap<\/span><\/i><\/h2>\n<\/blockquote>\n[\/vc_column_text][divider line_type=”Full Width Line” custom_height=”10″][\/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_position=”all” background_color_opacity=”1″ width=”3\/4″][vc_column_text]Gabriel Osorio’s<\/strong> ‘Bear Story’\u00a0<\/em>won the Academy award for Best Animated Short on Sunday at the Oscars, winning\u00a0amongst a selection of great animations including Pixar<\/em>‘s \u00a0‘<\/a>Sanjay’s Super Team’<\/a>, Richard William’s ‘Prologue’<\/a> and Don Hertzfeldt’s ‘World Of Tomorrow’<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n

Written and\u00a0Directed by Osorio, the film tells the touching story of lonely bear trying to bring life to his family memories through the construction of a mechanical diorama. Inspired by his once-exiled grandfather and reflecting on Chile’s dark political period of Pinochet’s dictatorship, the Chilean director produced this animation in collaboration with studio\u00a0PunkRobot<\/a>.\u00a0<\/strong>Here’s a bit of behind-the-scenes taste:<\/p>\n
